After years of heavy rainfall and the continuous scour of a fast-moving flow, erosion had caused a bricked bank to collapse, leaving the ground exposed to further erosion. The stream and the collapsed bank area were situated at the back of a private home and the increasing levels of rainfall created further erosion of the collapsed bank, which had begun to create significant damage to a householders garden. SoluForm’s above water 32N bagwork with water soluble liners offered the perfect solution to rebuild structure around the exposed bank as well as offer protection against future erosion. Our bags only weigh 20kg each, so they can be handled by a single person, and easily relocated to the project worksite for installation. The area was first drained and the water diverted with a hose as you can see from the below pictures. This meant that the fallen brick wall could then be cleared as well as all the loose debris which had gathered. A temporary diversion could be used to clear the water allowing for a clearer area to install the bagwork.
